Herman “Wall” Glenn has been a member of the SAL for over 4 years. He gained eligibility through his father, Clifford Glenn, who served in the Army during WWII. Clifford’s career did not end there, he went on to serve in the Marines and Coast Guard, receiving honorable discharges from both. Herman is semi-retired, which allows him to be more active with his immediate family as well as his Legion Family. He is the 1st Vice Commander of Post 8’s Sons of the American Legion as well as the Assistant Director of Post 8’s American Legion Riders Chapter. Herman has also been appointed to the TDY Committee for Post 8.
Don Graves has been a member of Post 8’s Sons of the American Legion for 22 years. He gained his eligibility through his father, Frederick Graves, who served during WWII. Don’s father served as a radio operator on a B17 as part of the Army Air Force, and was decorated as a member of the Caterpillar Club after having to bail out of his disabled aircraft. While his father was a long-standing member of the Clarence Oliver American Legion Post 154 in Elmira Heights NY, Don joined the Sons of the American Legion Post 8 in honor of his father’s memory, and tries to continue to honor his memory serving Post 8 and all of our Veterans. Don is the 2nd Vice Commander of Post 8’s SAL and is a member of Post 8’s American Legion Riders.
Dan Heier has been a continuous member of the Sons of the American Legion for 8 years, gaining eligibility though his father’s military service as a Private 1st Class in the US Army during WWII. He was introduced to the Legion through his neighbor that was a Past Commander at American Legion Post 4 in Lakeland, Florida. Dan was a member of Squadron 4 for two years before transferring to Squadron 8 in Winter Haven. Dan has been the Adjutant for 5 years and is past 1st Vice Commander. He has been a member of Post 8’s Honor Guard for four years and has served as the Director for the past 3 years. Dan is also the Commander for District 7’s SAL for 2022-2023 membership year.
Mike O’Callaghan is a US Army Paratrooper Veteran and has been a member of the American Legion for over 23 years. He is the current Commander as well as a Past Commander of Post 8. Mike is also the Finance Officer for Post 8’s Sons of the American Legion and a founding member of Post 8’ American Legon Riders Chapter.
